"Creature Cameos" Silly Putty Impression Mold Casting
Amulet- an object whose most important characteristic is the power ascribed to it to protect its owner from danger or harm.
Cameo- a word used to signify a "magical square", a kind of talisman whereupon a magical spells was carved. Historically "Cameos" were worn as jewelry, and often depict a portrait of a significant ruler or family member. Traditionally made by carving a relief (raised and recessed) design from shell or stone. This art form dates back as far as 300 B.C. Ancient Greece and have been worn as jewelry ever since.

Criteria: (Worth 70 project points)
Create a two-sided Cameo (make sure it is low relief, not too thick or bulky). Fuse two wax amulets together
- Plan out your “Creature Cameo” (playfully brainstorm with the exquisite corpse game)
- Use 2 or more small objects to make silly putty impressions. Recombine the wax into your morphed “Creature Cameo”
- Impress leather stamps to create a decorative border
- Be imaginative! Create a surprising or silly story of how your amulet got its power and its purpose
- Balance the amount of raised (not too high/thick) and recessed areas, texture and details should be clearly visible.
- Attach a tiny hook or small hole to hang the amulet making it a keychain or pendent with chain or leather cord
